Internationally acclaimed trumpeter Anthony Zator  is a freelance musician in the Denver metro area who’s talents encompass a wide variety of musical genres and skills from jazz composition to classical trumpet playing, small ensemble arranging to musical directing. 

Anthony is a founding board member and the current treasurer of The Colorado Musicians Consortium, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating innovative music programs through unique collaborations with Colorado artists. He is the leader of The Anthony Zator Quartet, an ensemble focused on modern jazz and original compositions and The Tony Zator Three, playing traditional jazz of the 50’s and 60’s with a blue grass/folk feel. 

Recently, Anthony became a member of Dave LeMieux and House of Soul, a gospel/funk/jazz ensemble with whom he spent two weeks traveling in and around Siberia, Russia performing in such cities as Yekaterinburg, Perm, and Izhevsk.
 
Anthony  plays with the Arapahoe Philharmonic,  the Aurora Symphony Orchestra, the ASO Brass Quintet, The Golden Eagle Concert Band and several other ensembles in the area. 

He has played in a wide array of performance venues, including St. John’s Cathedral, the Lakewood Cultural Center, MileHi Church, the Denver Public Library and Art Museum,  and has performed with the 9th and Lincoln Jazz Orchestra at Dazzle. This year saw the premier of his jazz ballet, Birth of a Rose, at Denver’s Botanic Gardens.

Anthony is an active arranger of music, most recently creating arrangements for the Shadow Theatre’s production of Christmas of the Angels and the Aurora Symphony Orchestra’s 2009 Christmas concert.
 
Anthony  trained at DePaul University, studying trumpet with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has performed at Chicago’s Symphony Center.  Upon completing a BM in trumpet performance, Anthony worked for Schilke trumpets, a manufacturer in  Chicago, until moving to Denver in 2007. 

Anthony is currently working on several compositions including a song cycle for mezzo-soprano using the texts of e. e. Cummings.
